Road to Hana – full day with all the stops (5-6 hours otherwise) – can proceed all the way around the island with proper vehicle

Sunrise or sunset (or anytime the weather is clear) on Haleakala – 6 hours (must do once)

Upcountry Road trip – Kula, (check out the Lavender Fields) Makawao, and Paia (4-6 hours, or separate day trips

Whale watching — depart Lahaina Harbor (Pacific Whale Foundation big boat or smaller raft (more fun) —  December-April (February is peak season) (must do every time you can)

Deep sea fishing or bottom fishing. Reserve at Start Me Up on Lahaina harbor

La Perouse Bay – south of Wailea, snorkel, lava field hike, surf, swim

Whalers Museum in Kaanapali

Insane Jet Boat Ride in Kaanapali (truly insane, a must do)

Trilogy boat ride to Lanai – full day, mega fun. (departs Lahaina harbor) (must do once)

Trilogy snorkel trip to Molokini (7-2, mega fun) Departs Maalaea Harbor

Best Luau – Old Lahaina Luau, make reservations well in advance of your trip! (must do once)

Maui Garden of Eden – botanical gardens

Golf — Kapalua – Championship Course (you have to play it once!) or Bay Course (our favorite)

Golf — Wailea  Blue course (boring)   Emerald Course (fun), Gold course (Championship course)
